Mind-hacking may come in many formats, but one of the more prevalent but hidden types is delivered through what the software design community has dubbed dark patterns— a design feature meant to trick the user. The backlash among user-experience designers against #DarkPatterns that manipulate users has come for the donation-hackers running the Trump re-election campaign’s website. Here we have Mary, a UX designer, reminding us that “if you thought he was only shady in person, I have news for you, he is also doing shady things on his website.”
